Hi, I am Chef Angela McKeller, The Everyday Gourmet, and yes, almost every day I prepare my own meals at home because it’s affordable, impressive, healthy, and easy. I have been successfully helping folks like you, that are intimidated by the kitchen, for over 15 years, all over the world.

My cheffin’ journey began when I was only 5 years old, and I just knew I was going to be the next Julia Child. I still love Julia, but these days, I’ve decided that I’m a wittier version of Giada de Laurentiis!

Some history:  At age 9, I was helping behind the scenes with the family catering business.  At age 12, I was teaching other families why their cookies never turned out right.  At age 18, I began working in restaurants and continued that route for 10 years.  During college, I taught people to cook, and fed them in exchange for free text books.  News spread like wildfire about my cooking skills and word spread so fast that it got to the point that if I threw a dinner party for 6, nearly 40 people showed up!  I have always loved food, and I loved sharing it with others.

The sledgehammer:  In 2004, I was diagnosed with a chronic illness.  The illness felt like bad news.  But worse?  I got the news that everyone dreads hearing: “You have to change your diet.” If you’ve heard this from a doctor, you know how awful it feels. Garfield put it quite well when he said, “Diet is DIE with a T.” Even if he is a talking cat, I still agree with him.  The jury is still out on whether or not my dogs talk or if I’m actually putting words in their mouths!

Since then, I’ve been on a mission to eradicate the word “diet” from the English language.

The Solution:  My approach is much different from what the doctors and nutritionists will tell you. They say NO.  I say YES.

I have taught people like you how to prepare easy, delicious, affordable meals in a fraction of the time that they thought it would take. Without sacrifice, I have taught how to do this in a healthy way, spending half the time and money they normally do at the grocery store. Further, I have taught the importance of strategies vs a grocery list when it comes to stocking your pantry for success.

But the biggest problem I’ve solved for folks like you?  How you can indulge yourself in the food you can have, rather than sacrifice everything you’ve always enjoyed.  Gluten-free, raw food, paleo diets – no matter which discipline is necessary for you to achieve your weight loss or health goals, indulgence must and certainly can be, part of the recipe!

Bottom line? If you are eating food only because you’re hungry and not because you enjoy it, and you think that’s the only answer there is?  It’s time for new rules.  Stop the madness.  Stop the frustration.  Start enjoying food again!
